Leaney Primary School

In Leaney Primary School we believe that the Internet and other digital technologies are very powerful resources which can enhance and potentially transform teaching and learning when used effectively and appropriately.  The Internet is an essential element of 21st century life for education, business and social interaction.

As well as equipping our children with the skills necessary for living in a digital world we are committed to ensuring our children are taught about the potential dangers they could face while working online, how to stay safe and who they can talk to about anything that makes them uncomfortable.

Lessons are taught in each class throughout the year focusing on:

  • Stranger danger
  • Cyber bullying
  • Protecting personal information
  • Social networking
  • Online Reputation
  • Gaming
  • How to report concerns

Download our ICT and E-Safety policy here for further information about how we protect our children in school while online.

In school on Safer Internet Day our children were involved in lots of activities  to teach children them to stay safe online.  We also thought about all our parents and carers and so we have produced a short video highlighting the dangers our children face online and how you can support them. In it we will also introduce you to a new app which will provide you with a wealth of information at your fingertips.  Please click the link below to watch this short but informative video.
